Legacies are an important source of income to Borders Forest Trust. Since BFT was formed in 1996,legacies have helped us to purchase land for tree planting, plant new native woodlands and protect important natural habitats. You may restrict your legacy in terms of the way that your gift can be used by the Trust, or if you wish, an unrestricted gift will be used by the Trust in the areas where it is most needed.

Charitable legacies are currently (2007) exempt from inheritance tax which means that all of your gift will be used to plant native trees across the Scottish Borders.

If you would like to leave a legacy on your will for Borders Forest Trust then please ensure that this is specified as you would wish in your will. Alternatively if you would like further information about how your legacy will help secure woodlands in the Scottish Borders in the future, or you have any other query, then please email us on enquiries@bordersforesttrust.org.
